Teide Masca (Grand Tour)

Excursion through Teide National Park, Masca and the north coast of Tenerife.

On this tour we will spend a full day touring the most representative places in the north of Tenerife.

Our first visit will be to the Teide National Park, located in the heart of Tenerife and home to the highest peak in Spain: the volcano El Teide. Here we will stop for about 30 minutes to admire the impressive volcanic landscapes of Las Cañadas del Teide, not forgetting the emblematic Roques de García.

After this visit, we will descend to Icod de los Vinos where we will have the opportunity to contemplate the famous Drago Milenario, which is said to be more than 800 years old. You will have free time to have lunch on your own or enjoy the Canarian gastronomy tasting one of the menus that we recommend in some of the restaurants in the area.

The next destination is Garachico, a colourful coastal village with a history marked by a volcanic eruption in 1706. Here we will stroll through the streets of its historic quarter, recognised as a Cultural Heritage Site and one of the most representative of the Canary Islands, and discover emblematic sites such as the natural pools of El Caletón, formed by lava flows, or the Castle of San Miguel, an ancient fortress that defended the town from pirate attacks.

We will follow the route and enter the vibrant nature of the Teno Rural Park until we reach the hamlet of Masca, located between impressive valleys and ravines. Let yourself be surprised by the charm of the traditional architecture of this enclave, declared a Site of Ethnographic and Historical Interest and an Asset of Cultural Interest.

  • Tenerife Grand Tour..

    We were looking online and Atlantico is the cheapest we found. It is worth every penny! Alexis, the tour guide who speaks both English and German is knowledgeable about the history in Tenerife. My bf, his mom and I all enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend Atlantico to my friends!

    Estoy encantado con la excursión, mejor que lo que pensaba. Solo pediría un poco más de tiempo en las paradas principales, vas contra el reloj la mayoría del día. Por lo demás encantado con el guía FABIO y con el conductor, un verdadero profesional de la carretera. Sin más un saludo

  • Importes aspectos a mejorar
    Es un forma cómoda de visitar los pies del Teide y los puntos emblemáticos del entorno y, a la vez, olvidarse de la conducción por una carretera complicada. Aunque el guía, Iván, nos pareció buen profesional, es muy cansado escuchar continuamente lo mismo en diferentes idiomas. En nuestro tour había más 6-7 lenguas diferentes; él hablaba continuamente, a veces contando lo mismo más de una vez en el mismo idioma, y supongo que omitiéndolo en algún otro (creo que sería mejor simplificarlo en un máximo de 3-4 lenguas, los momentos de silencio también son necesarios). Sin embargo, lo más negativo del tour fue que en ningún momento hubo información acerca de la comida, ni lugar ni hora aproximada... Aunque en la información previa a la contratación nos dijeron que comeríamos en Garachico, finalmente fue en Icod de de los Vinos, y ya estábamos dentro del restaurante, en el propio salón y casi ya sentados, cuando supimos que comeríamos ahí y además compartiendo mesa con desconocidos -aún habiendo mesas libres y sin preguntarnos-, en nuestro caso una pareja de irlandeses. A nosotros no nos trastocó los planes porque íbamos a comer donde nos propusieran, pero el detalle es muy feo, de hecho la mitad del grupo se fue. Los irlandeses fueron encantadores y, aunque no hubo ningún problema de comunicación, podría haberlo habido (no olvidemos que es un tour multilingüe) o simplemente que no te apetezca compartir mesas con extraños. Lo mínimo hubiese sido algo de información al respecto al inicio del tour ; entre tanta charla no hubiese costado encontrar el momento. Este aspecto hace que nuestra valoración sea más baja. Lo mejor fue José Luis, el conductor: profesional y discreto; y sin duda, el entorno y el paisaje, pero en esto nada tiene que ver el tour, ni su organización ni su ejecución.

  • No recomendable
    No recomendada. Variedad de idiomas que hace muy pesada la explicación, teniéndola que escuchar varias veces en diferentes idiomas. En el parque del Teide, parte principal de la excursión, hemos estado 20 min contados. Después hemos ido a Masca y la carretera era horrible, con el autobús difícil pasar, se pierde muchísimo tiempo. Cuando hemos terminado el último destino, el guía Iván, nos ha llevado directamente sin preguntar a un restaurante a comer, bajándonos hasta abajo del comedor e indicándonos donde nos teníamos que sentar (no entraba la comida en el precio de la excursión), así que los que no nos hemos querido sentar nos ha hablado bastante seco, como que en 45min en el punto donde nos decía, sino, nos quedábamos aquí. Hemos llegado a las 15:15h como nos ha dicho pero los del restaurante como era de esperar, no han terminado de venir hasta las 15:35h.
