Visit the largest solar observatory in the world and observe the stars of Teide with long-range telescopes.

This is a perfect excursion for astronomy lovers.

You will start the tour at the Teide Observatory, where you will do a guided tour. There, your Starlight guide (specialist in the observation of the night sky) will explain the importance of the Canary sky, the telescopes of the observatory and the different projects of the Astrophysics Institute of the Canary Islands. You will also enjoy the sun as never before, since you can observe its spots and flares through the telescope.

You will see the sunset from the Observatory, a unique spectacle in which the sun hides behind El Teide. A range of colors will adorn the views of the volcano and the ocean.

Then we will go to the base of the Teide's Cable Car and, far from the light pollution of urban areas, you will discover the secrets of the sky in an astronomical observation with the naked eye and with a long-range telescope. Did you know that from El Teide you can see 83 of the 88 constellations officially recognized?

You will discover stars, planets, galaxies and clusters as you have never imagined, while your Starlight guide teaches you the constellations, the celestial map and provides you with interesting information about the objects you observe. Marvel at the immensity of the universe and live an experience without equal, in one of the most visited national parks in the world.

It also includes a stop for a meal. You choose whether you prefer to bring your own food, use the Cable Car’s vending machines or buy the optional picnic along with your ‘Astronomic Tour including a visit of Teide Observatory’.

Important: The price for the VIP Private Tour option includes a private tour for 4 people . If you wish to add more people to your group , you must select the VIP Private Tour Extra Person option and add it to your cart. The group must have a maximum of 8 people.

Note: Pick-up will be at the meeting point closest to your hotel.

RESTRICTIONS:

Anyone wearing open-toed shoes (sandals), shorts, or short sleeves will be denied entry to the excursion. Appropriate attire is essential due to the low temperatures during the activity.

Astronomic Tour is not recommended for people with physical problems in general (anemia, heart disease, respiratory problems, etc.) or with reduced mobility, as the journeys are made on foot along paths and stairs.

Children under 8 years old are not allowed in sunset and nighttime activities.

Please note that you will need to have sufficient knowledge of the language in which the tour is conducted in order to properly follow the guide's explanations.

Please remember that eating is not permitted during the activity, and we will have a lunch break. Of course, if you bring your own food, you can eat it during the break.

No pets allowed.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS:

You can change the date or cancel the activity free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts. After that time, 100% of the fee will be retained.

If weather conditions prevent the complete activity from taking place, a full refund will be issued. If weather conditions prevent a visit to the Observatory, the price of the Teide by Night excursion (with or without a picnic) will be charged, and the difference will be refunded. In case of cloud cover at the Observatory, the usual itinerary of the booked visit may be modified. If weather conditions prevent astronomical observation, a refund of €35 per adult and €30 per child will be issued to non-residents, and €24.50 per adult and €21 per child to residents.

Accessibility:

  • This activity is accessible to people with reduced mobility, provided that the degree of disability allows them to board the bus on their own.
  • At some of the stops, the terrain may be uneven or have slopes, which may make the journey difficult.
  • If you are bringing a wheelchair or other mobility aid, it must be foldable so that it can be placed in the bus's luggage compartment.
Reservations may be cancelled or the date of the activity may be changed free of charge up to 24 hours prior to the activity. After this period, 100% of the amount will be charged.
