Teide Masca (Grand Tour)

Excursion through Teide National Park, Masca and the north coast of Tenerife.

On this tour we will spend a full day touring the most representative places in the north of Tenerife.

Our first visit will be to the Teide National Park, located in the heart of Tenerife and home to the highest peak in Spain: the volcano El Teide. Here we will stop for about 30 minutes to admire the impressive volcanic landscapes of Las Cañadas del Teide, not forgetting the emblematic Roques de García.

After this visit, we will descend to Icod de los Vinos where we will have the opportunity to contemplate the famous Drago Milenario, which is said to be more than 800 years old. You will have free time to have lunch on your own or enjoy the Canarian gastronomy tasting one of the menus that we recommend in some of the restaurants in the area.

The next destination is Garachico, a colourful coastal village with a history marked by a volcanic eruption in 1706. Here we will stroll through the streets of its historic quarter, recognised as a Cultural Heritage Site and one of the most representative of the Canary Islands, and discover emblematic sites such as the natural pools of El Caletón, formed by lava flows, or the Castle of San Miguel, an ancient fortress that defended the town from pirate attacks.

We will follow the route and enter the vibrant nature of the Teno Rural Park until we reach the hamlet of Masca, located between impressive valleys and ravines. Let yourself be surprised by the charm of the traditional architecture of this enclave, declared a Site of Ethnographic and Historical Interest and an Asset of Cultural Interest.

  • The route from Puerto de la Cruz contains variations: After visiting the National Park, the route is done in reverse: Masca, Garachico and finally Icod de los Vinos.

  • Très belle excursion

    Nous avons passé une excellente journée entière avec notre chauffeur Chico et notre guide qui parlait très bien français. Nous avons pu voir l essentiel de Tenerife, le Teide et des jolis villages typiques, très bon choix de restaurant pour le déjeuner et vraiment bravo au chauffeur de bus qui maîtrisait à merveille les nombreuses serpentines

    Excellent service from Enrique and Juan Carlos. Enrique worked very hard to keep us informed and entertained. Juan Carlos drove expertly, especially on the twisty, narrow and busy roads around Masca. We could not have had a better team delivering the tour.

    Debido a varios incidentes que ocurrieron en este Tour perdimos mucho tiempo en el recorrido, lo que dejó muy poco tiempo para visitar los lugares de interés, concretamente, 20 minutos en Icod, 20 minutos en Garachico, 20 minutos en Másca y 15 minutos en los Roques de García. En mi opinión, es demasiado tiempo en el recorrido y poquísimo tiempo para la visita.. Es la sexta vez que visito Tenerife y he hecho este recorrido varias veces, pero nunca ha sido tan poco satisfactorio como está vez.. Destacó muy positivamente el trabajo de la guía (Elena) y del conductor (Javier) que lo tuvieron muy difícil, por todos esos imprevistos que resolvieron adecuadamente. Creo que son muchos destinos para un solo tour.. En mi opinión, deberían excluir Masca de este tour y hacer un tour solo para este destino... No compensa un viaje tan largo y no exento de peligro para una visita de 20 minutos.

  • Very worthwhile tour
    Punctual, patient and knowledgeable guide, 3 way commentary in Spanish, English and German. Loads of information about the history geography, topography, geology, volcanoes, and the flora & fauna of Tenerife. Lots of sites and sights. I think a refreshment break should be earlier in the tour - but I understand that may be difficult.
