Teide Masca (Grand Tour)

Excursion through Teide National Park, Masca and the north coast of Tenerife.

On this tour we will spend a full day touring the most representative places in the north of Tenerife.

Our first visit will be to the Teide National Park, located in the heart of Tenerife and home to the highest peak in Spain: the volcano El Teide. Here we will stop for about 30 minutes to admire the impressive volcanic landscapes of Las Cañadas del Teide, not forgetting the emblematic Roques de García.

After this visit, we will descend to Icod de los Vinos where we will have the opportunity to contemplate the famous Drago Milenario, which is said to be more than 800 years old. You will have free time to have lunch on your own or enjoy the Canarian gastronomy tasting one of the menus that we recommend in some of the restaurants in the area.

The next destination is Garachico, a colourful coastal village with a history marked by a volcanic eruption in 1706. Here we will stroll through the streets of its historic quarter, recognised as a Cultural Heritage Site and one of the most representative of the Canary Islands, and discover emblematic sites such as the natural pools of El Caletón, formed by lava flows, or the Castle of San Miguel, an ancient fortress that defended the town from pirate attacks.

We will follow the route and enter the vibrant nature of the Teno Rural Park until we reach the hamlet of Masca, located between impressive valleys and ravines. Let yourself be surprised by the charm of the traditional architecture of this enclave, declared a Site of Ethnographic and Historical Interest and an Asset of Cultural Interest.

    El tour me encantó. El viaje en el autobús fue muy cómodo y, aunque el camino es sinuoso, el chofer condujo con mucha seguridad. Alexis fue encantador, muy amable, y se nota claramente su gran conocimiento de la isla; explicó todo con pasión y eso hizo la experiencia aún más especial. Sin duda, una actividad que recomiendo mucho.

    El tour fue fantástico. La guía Laura nos contó muchos detalles interesantes sobre las islas Canarias y, en particular, sobre la isla de Tenerife. El conductor, José Luis, hizo muestra de una gran destreza al volante, especialmente al recorrer la carretera hacia Masca. La primera parada, en Icod de los Vinos, nos decepcionó un poco porque solo pudimos ver el Drago milenario (ni siquiera nos acercamos) para hacernos la foto de rigor. Estábamos desilusionadas, pero la verdad es que las siguientes paradas merecieron mucho más la pena. Conocimos los lugares más emblemáticos de Garachico y Masca con más calma. Finalmente tuvimos unos 40 minutos para explorar el Parque del Teide. Nos pareció un tour muy completo y con un precio muy competitivo. Sin duda lo recomendamos.

    We had an amazing time ! We were lucky to see plenties of pilot whales ! The ride was magical and everything was done to have a pleasant time. The tapas were delicious. I recommend it highly !

    This was a fantastic trip. We visited so many places and had many many photo opportunities. The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke impeccable English. It was fantastic value for money and I was picked up and dropped off at the stated time.

  • Teide Masca Grand Tour
    The tour itself was very interesting, we loved Teide especially. Icod de Los Vinos was lovely, but we found a restaurant ourselves not the one recommended by our guide. It seemed overpriced for what it was. Garachico had very high waves so we couldn’t park by the sea , but we did get to walk through the town with the guide, but no commentary on what we could see. Masca was a nice little place with very scary roads! The driver was brilliant! Our guide who did the tour on English & Lithuanian could have been more personable. He had a very monotone voice & it was if he had learned it off by heart & couldn’t go off the script. Not much interaction with us passengers. Overall a good excursion but we would have preferred a different guide.
